Thought you saw the last of those zits, blackheads and whiteheads from your teen years? Perhaps not! Many adult males and females contract the skin disease acne in their late twenties and thirties, even for those individuals that had escaped the scourge of acne in their teens.

When considering adult acne, there are 2 types – the most  popular form known as Acne Vulgaris, and the rarer form called Acne Rosacea.

Studies have shown that almost 80% of the US people between 12 and 24 have experienced  Acne Vulgaris.  But, only about 5% of the population, or 13 million people, endured the exacerbation and “rosy” cheeks of Acne Rosacea.

What Is Rosacea?

Acne Rosacea is a skin disease that is usually restricted to the face and eyes. This skin disease most commonly strikes men and women in the age range of 30 years to 60 years of age. The disorder consists of redness and flushing of the cheeks and chin, pimples and a pattern of broken blood vessels .

At first, an individual’s cheeks can turn red and flushed very easily. However, as the skin disorder becomes more developed, redness will become much more visible around the area of the nose, and then expand to include a greater area of the face. In a severe case of rosacea, one might see enlarged oil glands under the surface of the skin on the nose that can result in an enlarged and bulbous red nose.  Viewing rosacea pictures can give you a good visual image of this skin disorder’s symptoms.

What Is The Best Treatment For Rosacea?

The good news is that the skin condition called Acne Rosacea isn’t medically dangerous.  The bad news is that this disease is also incurable.  However, with a preventive program using a rosacea natural treatment and lifestyle revisions, this skin disorder can be controlled.   A sufferer should treat acne rosacea with a reputable cream for rosacea to reduce the sensitivity of the skin and limit symptoms.
