Acne scars are visible reminders of acne problems that can be very noticeable even long after the acne has actually healed. Different Acne Scar Treatments

The usual practice is to perform these acne scar treatments in combinations, major considerations of which is the extent of the scarring.

Eradicating deep acne scars can be dealt with several acne scar treatments that are not only effective but alos quite expensive. Punch techniques, running from fifty dollars per scar, is quite expensive but is very helpful in removing deep acne scars. Another deep acne scar treatment is augmentation, which uses collagen injections. This method of removing acne scars is not permanent though, so you will have to undergo this treatment once in every three or six months, with each cubic centimeter of area treated amounting from three hundred to seven hundred dollars. Saline injections may also be good for removing acne scars that are not too deep, but this is still expensive since each treatment in a series of at least five sessions can cost up to a hundred dollars.

People who are considering acne scar treatments should see to it that they consult a dermatologist who will recommend the best suitable procedure for removing acne scars. Almost all insurance policies do not cover these treatments, so these people should be able to pay for the treatments entirely from their savings. Furthermore, a recovery period of a week or two is needed after some acne scar treatments, which means that one should take a little long time off from work.
